The Life Insurance Corporation of India is the largest network and insurance company in the country. Many young job aspirants dream of getting a job in this Fortune500 Company. LIC issues notifications about job vacancies on their official website, which provides crucial information such as the number of vacancies, eligibility criteria, date of examination and name of centres.
The notifications about vacancies are published zone wise; Northern zone, North Central zone, East Central zone, Eastern zone, Central zone, Southern zone and Western zone. Candidates must be proficient in the local language where they apply.
After the publication of LIC Assistant Notification on their official website, the recruitment procedure starts. The notice provides all crucial data such as the age limit of the candidate, educational qualification, application fee, exam syllabus and pattern. You find a link where you can apply for the post and upload all relevant documents in recommended size and dimension.
Until the 2022 notification is issued, you can read the previous year’s notification and comprehend the earlier syllabus and pattern of the exam. Only after the publication of the recruitment notice the application would be activated. Only through this portal, you can apply for the job. There is no other alternative path for the application.
Age limit for LIC Assistant
Before applying, read the age and educational criteria. You must comply with the given parameters, or else your application will be rejected at a later stage. Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized university. For ex-servicemen, the qualification is relaxed to HSC (10+2) with a minimum of ten years of service.
Ex-servicemen with matriculation degrees must serve the army for fifteen years; eligibility of non-matric ex-servicemen is fifteen years of service along with a special certificate exam held by the Indian Army/Navy or Air force.
The age limit of candidates applying for LIC assistant is between eighteen to thirty years. Age limit relaxation applicable to SC/ST five years, OBC three years, PwBD( person with benchmark disability) general ten years, PwBD(SC/ST) fifteen years, PwBD(OBC) thirteen years.
The maximum age limit for ex-servicemen is forty-five years, and that of disabled ex-servicemen belonging to SC/ST is fifty years and OBC forty-eight years. There are no restrictions imposed on the attempt of an exam. One can try to crack the exam till he/she reaches the maximum age limit.
Before applying for the post, go through the conditions thoroughly. Any kind of persuasion, financial or otherwise, can cause disqualification. The insurance company has every right to cancel the recruitment process without giving any reason.
The successful candidate will be issued an appointment letter only after verification of documents and a medical test, as prescribed by LIC. All appointments are governed by the LIC of India Staff Regulations 1960.
Biometric mandatory
LIC Assistant Notification also states all candidates will be debarred if they provide false or fabricated documents. Biometric verification is mandatory. Any candidate fuse to undergo the process will be disqualified immediately.
The application for the post is INR510. For SC/ST/PWD, the fee is relaxed to INR 85. The merit list is uploaded to the official website of LIC after completion of the exam. Results are displayed after each round of the exam.
